What is a horizontal silo?
The horizontal cement silo is a new type of storage equipment for powder and granular materials. Compared to the vertical cement silo, it has the advantages of no need for foundation, easy to move, low overall height, simple installation, safety, and environmental protection.
The horizontal cement silo is square-shaped, with several legs supporting the bottom. The discharge cone is a square cone, and the silo body is welded from a frame composed of corrugated plates and profiles. It is suitable for storing various bulk materials such as cement and fly ash.
Installation and usage process of cement horizontal silo
Installation steps
- Use a dedicated crane to erect the cement tank and place it on the prefabricated concrete foundation. After checking the verticality, weld the bottom securely to the foundation’s embedded parts.
- Fill the screw conveyor with gear oil, and apply butter to the mid-point suspension point.
- (For some models) It can be directly placed on hardened floors without the need for pre-embedded foundations, and a mobile chassis can also be added.
Usage Operation
- Material storage: Connect the pipeline of the bulk cement truck to the ash inlet pipe of the silo, and use gas pressure to deliver the cement into the silo.
- Before use: Ensuring the circuit is unobstructed, activating vibration for 2-3 minutes before and after adding ash. Cease adding ash when the alarm sounds. If the air outlet is blocked, inspect/clean the dust filter element (bind 2-3 wires to prevent deformation before cleaning, install after drying, and replace promptly if it becomes ineffective).
- During material feeding: Continuously press the button of the dust collector’s vibration motor to shake off the cement on the bag, preventing blockage and overfilling.
- Material feeding: First, open the manual discharge valve at the bottom of the cone and feed the material through the discharge screw. In case of arching, press the solenoid valve button of the arch breaker to blow air.
